Due to the nature of Teo’s disease, he’s in need of continuous surgical treatment to gradually remove the growth piece by piece. Most likely he will also need treatment with the use of tissue expanders, and then specialized lasers. Teo has years of intensive therapy and multiple operations ahead of him.
Teo’s delivery and the first two operations were funded by the National Health Fund (Polish national health insurance-NFZ in Polish) via the EU's form E112. Our intention is to continue funding Teo’s treatment this way. Unfortunately, for various reasons it is not always possible. The last operation, which cost amounted to more than 4,000 euros, we had to cover overselves. Thanks to cooperation with the Polish charity Foundation for Children "Help on Time '’ (Fundacja Dzieciom “Zdazyc z Pomoca) we have a chance for a reimbursement of the cost of treatment.
Funding by the Foundation requires the presentation of invoices and bills, which, after verification shall be reimbursed from funds in our sub-account.

Teo was delivered via a caesarean section, which took place under general anesthesia. He was born screaming and breathing independently, but after a few moments, as a result of anesthesia, his breathing began to deteriorate, and the doctors needed to support him with the ventilator. He received 6/8/9 points in the Apgar scale and was placed in the neonatal intensive care unit NEO.

During an ultrasound at 28 weeks gestation the OBGYN noticed some abnormalities in the image of the fetus. They saw something unusual in the child's head image. We are grateful to Dr. Bogdan Fender for highly professional and excellent care during the pregnancy. Due to his early diagnosis we could start our race against time.
